It's the hottest ticket in town! The thrilling 2009 season reaches its climax when the Bronx Gridlock -- Gotham's 2007 Champions -- roll in a rematch with the Manhattan Mayhem, who return to the GGRD Finals for the first time since 2006. Come see The Golden Skate awarded to the champion of GGRD's fifth season!

Halftime will feature a tap performance by the sensational Minsky Sisters, and DJ Shakey will spin the tunes.

TICKET ALERT: advance tickets for this bout are already completely sold out. However, a small number of additional tickets may become available due to cancellations. These will be put on sale at Brown Paper Tickets at 8:30am on Thursday, November 19. Additionally, ticket offers and requests have already started popping up at Craigslist.

The championship goes down at the Hunter College Sportsplex, at the southwest corner of Lexington Ave and 68th Street in Manhattan, directly at the 68th street stop on the (6) subway line and near the (F) train stop at 63rd street.

The WFTDA's 2008 Champions - the Gotham Girls Roller Derby All-Stars, combining the powers of Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens - take the track in Philly to defend their national title.

The Philly Rollergirls host the Declaration of Derby, a three-day tournament (November 13-15) between the WFTDA's top twelve teams.

The bracket first pits Gotham against Detroit at 8:45pm on Friday, November 13, and this bout's victor faces the Oly Rollers from Olympia, Washington at 3:15pm on Saturday, November 14. The winner of the Oly bout plays again at 7:45pm on Saturday, and the tournament concludes with its championship bout at 4pm on Sunday, November 15.

The Sockit Wenches of Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls came to town on October 24th and emerged with exciting twin forty-minute victories over both the Brooklyn Bombshells (107-87) and the Queens of Pain (86-67).

When you watch the bouts, is it all you can do it sit still in your seat? When you practice your skating, do you picture yourself on the track with your future Gotham Girls teammates? It sounds like you're ready for tryouts.

We hope you've been practicing, 'cause we're ready for you, too. Tryouts for the 2010 season will be on Saturday, December 5th from 12pm to 5pm.

GGRD has been offering 'skills nights' where aspiring Gotham Girls can enjoy a little practice. The sign-up lists for the skills nights are all full, but you can still join the waiting list for tryouts. For more general information about trying out to be a Gotham Girl, check here.

After trying out on December 5th, come celebrate your bravery at the awards party on the 6th!
