The March 28 doubleheader at LIU-Brooklyn featured a huge season-opening statement by the victorious and #1-ranked Gotham Girls All-Stars.
As Derby News Network begins their coverage, "2008 WFTDA champs Gotham demonstrated that they hadn't lost any steps during a five-month hiatus, comprehensively outplaying #8 Boston to go up by 80 points at halftime on their way to a overwhelming 188-44 win in their 2009 debut." Gotham's Wall Street Traitors kicked off the sold-out evening of action with a 54-38 victory over the neighboring Suburban Brawl of Suburbia Roller Derby of Westchester, NY. Full derby coverage of both bouts can be read at Derby News Network. The Massacre awarded Manhattan's Sweet Sherry Pie the bout MVP honors, while the Gotham skaters recognized Shellby Shattered as the outstanding Boston skater. ROAD TRIPS!
