Watch the #1 ranked National Champion Gotham Girls All-Stars battle #8 ranked Boston Massacre in a WFTDA East Region showdown. The action kicks off with a half-hour exhibition bout between Gotham's Wall Street Traitors vs All-Stars from Suburbia Roller Derby (Westchester, NY). Show your NYC pride and cheer for your home teams. FYI — skaters love fan-made signs!

Doubleheader held at the Schwartz Athletic Center of LIU – Brooklyn, at the corner of Flatbush and DeKalb, convenient to almost every subway line.

Afterparty at Freddy's - 485 Dean Street, just six blocks south of the venue.

It's the annual "Derbytaunt Ball" where Gotham skaters and fans welcome the latest crop of rookies to the league. Who's going to sail with the Bombshells? Don a Queens tiara? Wave a Gridlock wrench? Get shackled in Mayhem handcuffs? Fans and friends are all invited to celebrate the start of our 5th season at Public Assembly. The Derbytaunt Ball is a can't-miss social gala, and in this year's edition, we're time traveling to the year 5000! Dress to impress as your best future perfect self — themed outfits highly encouraged. Drink specials, snacks, and other surprises will abound. Check back soon for more details on our Events page.

NEW CATEGORY - JUNIOR DIVISION

Roller derby is a dynamic and photogenic sport, and the Gotham Girls play it harder, faster, and flashier than anyone else.
The action-packed 2009 campaign promises even more opportunities for memorable sports photography. 2008's winning photographs have been featured in the Gotham Girls' on-line photo album, at the season-ending awards ceremony, in the 2009 Season Program, and in other league materials.

Photographers at GGRD bouts are invited to participate in four contest categories:

• Best Pack Action
• Jammer Action
• Crowd/Ambiance Shot
• NEW CATEGORY: Best Photo, Junior Division (age 13 and under)

Junior Division prize: a brand-new pair of skates from , Brooklyn’s Bicycle Emporium.
All photos taken at 2009 GGRD home or away bouts are eligible. Entries due October 24, 2009.

The GGRD video production team has captured the excitement of Gotham Girls Roller Derby in a new collection of 15-second spots featuring your favorite skaters, past and present. These videos will be playing in heavy rotation — every five minutes! — on wide screen high-def television monitors every day for the two weeks leading up to the March 28 bout, at these fun locations in Williamsburg and Park Slope:
