The Manhattan Mayhem, winless since 2006, trounced the Brooklyn Bombshells in a Friday night fight between the original two Gotham Girls Roller Derby home teams. The Mayhem managed to avoid a second year in last place in the GGRD standings, closing their 2008 season at 1-2 with a 146-91 victory.
Prior to Friday's bout, both teams stood at 0-2 for 2008, each with losses to the Bronx Gridlock and Queens of Pain. Rookie-heavy Manhattan was coming together as a team, while Brooklyn was falling apart due to injuries. The crowd in the sold-out Hunter College Sportsplex counted down the start of the game with Lil' Red Terror at the jammer line for Brooklyn and Em Dash jamming for Manhattan... click here to read the full Re-Cap.

On Saturday, September 27th, a post-season double header will pit Montreal Roller Derby against the Brooklyn Bombshells and Providence Roller Derby against the Manhattan Mayhem. Come cheer on your favorite inmates and sailorettes for the last time in 2008 at the Hunter College Sportsplex, 68th and Lexington, in Manhattan!

before they're sold out! Team Captains, game MVPs and other select skaters will be available for photographs and autographs immediately following the bout at the Autograph Table, located in the lobby near the Merchandise Table.
Fans should arrive early to win prizes in pre-game rounds of Gotham Girls Bingo. Low-priced snacks, soda, and water will also be on-hand to keep fans energized for this action- packed game (cash sales only).
