Get Well Soon, Bunny!
BrokenBunny

In last weekend's bout against Queens, Bronx all-star jammer Beatrix Slaughter (aka Bunny), went down after a hard hit from Queens Co-Captain Cheapskate. When Bunny didn't immediately get up, the EMT's on-hand went to her aid -- they determined she had a serious shoulder injury and she left the game just before the half.

At the hosiptal that night, she was officially diagnosed with a broken collarbone. We wish Bunny a speedy recovery, and hope that she will  be back in time to compete with the All-Star Team in the upcoming Regional Tournament, and with her home team for the League Championship title, both in October.

Time to Tailgate!
Minnie Pearl Haggard

Just hours before the August 16th game, fans gathered at the official "Tailgate Party" at American Trash, hosted by the GGRD Jeerleaders and GGRD Sponsor, murphguide.com.

This was the first of many pre-bout parties to come, and it was well attended by fans, eager to have a few drinks and catch some footage of previous games in anticipation of the night's match-up.

Bar patrons and fans mingled alongside skaters' family members and friends, before being treated to a fire-breathing act by Jeerleader, Minnie Pearl Haggard... (more)

Bronx Remains Undefeated, Delivered Defeat to Queens on August 18th

BrigitteBarhotIn perhaps the most highly-anticipated matchup of the Gotham Girls home season, the 2007 champion Bronx Gridlock clashed with two-time champs the Queens of Pain in a rock-'em, sock-'em bout that didn't disappoint. There were high expectations for this bout and both teams delivered with an entertaining and athletic display of talent. In the end, it was a heartstopper for the Gridlock and a heartbreaker for Queens, as the Bronx won by a score of 90-86.
