GGRD's All-Stars earned the nickname "the Beasts from the East" when they took the #1 spot in the Eastern Regional Tournament, presented by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (wftda.com) in August 2007. At the WFTDA National Championship the following month, they went on to take #5 in the nation (out of the WFTDA's 54 member leagues).
Philly's "Belles" are among the top national competitors at #9 and are hoping to avenge their 139-83 Eastern Conference loss to GGRD, which took them out of the running for the National Tournament.
GGRD's All-Star B-Team, "The Traitors", promises to be just as fierce as the All-Star team, coming out of the gate at this inaugural bout.
The Connecticut "Sabotage" (currently unranked) may be green as well, but they are hungry. With only two games under their helmets, the "Sabotage" are looking to build a reputation for themselves on the national map.
