Tips for Staying Safe on the Road This Summer Season

 A little preparation before heading out on that road trip will make your vacation a lot more enjoyable. Before you start your trip, map out your route and get familiar with your vacation spot. Book hotels in advance and get confirmations from the hotel. You may want to consider purchasing a navigation system, if your car is not equipped with one. 

Take frequent breaks, it's a vacation; don't exhaust yourself by pushing it on the road. You shouldn't drive more than eight hours and avoid driving during times of day when you're likely to feel sleepy. At rest stops, walk around and have something to eat if you're hungry. Drink plenty of water too. If at any time you feel tired, stop and rest. 

Be prepared for emergencies. Take a cell phone with you and contact numbers. Make sure you have a road side assistance plan, like our Saftrack Program, free to our customers. Let friends or family members know your route and your itinerary. Also take with you a flashlight, road flares, jumper cables and drinking water. Lastly, make sure you know where your jack is and make sure you have an inflated spare tire.
