Special Edition: Haiti

A woman wanders through the ruins of College St. Pierre, an elementary school run by the Episcopal Diocese of Haiti.
On January 12, a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti. The capital city of Port-au-Prince is in ruins. Tens of thousands of people have died. Approximately one third of the population has been displaced. Water and food are in short supply.
Relief is arriving, but the nation's infrastructure is so heavily damaged that delivery of supplies is at best a logistical nightmare. Agencies, including Episcopal Relief and Development, are sending in supplies and professional aid workers to address immediate needs and assess the longterm rebuilding of the nation. Financial support and pray are the most effective way the average person can make a difference for Haiti now and in the months and years to come.
