SB 1674 (Torlakson) passed Assembly Education Committee yesterday afternoon by a vote of 6-3. The no votes were cast by the three Committee Republicans - Garrick (Solana Beach), Huff (Diamond Bar) and Nakanishi (Lodi).

The bill will now go to the Assembly Appropriations Committee, where it will be heard in August, after the Summer Recess.
