Even Governors Wear "Camo"
By Patrick Tyndall
"It's Hard When You Find Out Your Husband is Not Who You Thought He Was."
Jenny Sanford
1st Lady of South Carolina
The Palmetto State was struck a devastating blow a couple of weeks ago when we found out about the adultery committed by our Governor. While our prayer is that the Sanford family can reconcile their marriage, perhaps there are some things we can learn from this very public ordeal. If you have attended an Ironman Retreat, then you know that we spend a lot of time talking about "camo." As men, we know how to blend into our surroundings. We know what camo pattern to wear in front of our mother-n-law, we know what camo to wear in church on Sundays, and because we are so good at wearing our camo, nobody knows what is really going on in our life. I believe Mark Sanford had his camo on also. Click here to read the rest of this article.

Ask the Ironman Archery Pro - Tom Ryan Recently, Patrick sat down with Tom Ryan to discuss a few pre-season tips and advice about archery. Tom is an IO Pro-staffer, avid bowhunter, and teaches archery at the Univ. of South Carolina. Patrick: Since many of us have not picked our bow up since last deer season, what things do we need to check to make sure the bow is still in good order? I.e. how do I know if I need a new string? Tom: Strings and cables that are frayed need to be replaced! This is a safety issue. Sometimes waxing the string, something you can never do enough, is all it takes. Strings that are badly frayed or partially cut must be replaced immediately. Measure your axle to axle length; it should match the manufacturer's spec's. If the string has stretched, the A2A length may be way off which will affect timing and accuracy. Sometimes the string can be twisted back down to the correct length with the aid of a bow press. A new top of the line string and cable like Winner's Choice or Barracuda can really add performance to an older bow. Click here to read the rest of this arcticle.
