What others are saying...

Awesome retreat! The hunting was great! The food was out of this world. But more importantly, the opportunity to share with, grow with and to learn from men who have a passion to see men come to Christ was unforgettable! PLEASE put my name on the list for the next retreat!

Ironman Success at White Oak!
Brent Owen Deer
Some 33 years ago the SC Baptist Convention acquired 841 acres of land just outside of Winnsboro, SC.  Today, the White Oak Conference Center is host to thousands of visitors each year who come to enjoy world class Christian training.

On October 15-17 Team Ironman partnered with the SC Baptist Convention to offer the first ever bowhunting retreat at White Oak.  This truly is an amazing piece of property.  Over 100 deer were seen and 2 nice bucks were harvested.  Congrats to Brent Owen on his 195lb 9-point buck (and the birth of a son just a few days later).  Not only was the food outstanding and the fellowship refreshing, our manhood discussions at White Oak were brainstorming sessions on how to better reach men with the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Ironman Outdoors was proud to play a role in helping the SC Baptist Convention come up with fresh and exciting ways to reach men!  Many thanks to the staff at White Oak for helping us make this retreat a success!  Click here to see the pictures from this retreat.
The St. Helena Sound Claims 2 Ironman Leaders and 2 Cell Phones
Jim cast net
On Oct. 24-26 the Team Ironman crew descended on Edisto Beach, SC in search of some muy grande shrimp!  With 18 men, 5 boats, and Big Dave's cooking this weekend was sure to be a success!  The only thing we had not planned on was the gale force winds and small craft advisories.  Before the weekend was over 2 Ironman Leaders (Patrick Tyndall and Jim Miles) took unplanned swims while throwing the cast net from the front of the boat.  Lesson Learned:  Remove all cell phones from pockets before attempting to throw a cast net in 30 knot winds!

Despite some rough weather, this was a wonderful retreat with outstanding food, great fellowship, and powerful manhood discussions!  Thanks to the Seigler Family for providing not one but two beach houses for our use this past weekend! To see the pictures from this retreat click here.

My Great Grandpa William Tyndale and the Protestant Reformation

comparison

As Halloween approaches, there's more to celebrate than just candy corn, hay rides, and Wal-mart costumes.  Don't forget that October 31st is also Reformation Day.  In 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany essentially challenging the Catholic Church to a debate about many of its non-Biblical practices.  If it weren't for the courage of people like Martin Luther and William Tyndale, the entire concept of "justification by faith alone" might have been lost forever.  To read the rest of this article click here.
