Tackles Offshore Fishing
Ironman goes to the Big Pond! Last weekend 10 men headed about 30 miles offshore from the coast of Wilmington, NC. What we found were king mackerel, barracudas, spanish mackerel, sharks, and a greater sense of who we are as men and the God we serve. We had powerful manhood discussions about alcohol and what it means to be a Godly Father and Husband. To see more of the photos click here. Ironman Video School
17 men attended the Ironman Video School on July 27th. We learned from the pros (Scott Sanders and JC Hall) about how to produce quality outdoor videos.
Patrick and the guys are now taking the camera with them on every outing. Soon you will see video on the Ironman Website. The eventual goal is to produce an evangelistic DVD aimed at reaching outdoorsman for Christ! Thanks again to all those who have donated generously to purchase the video equipment and for those who are now learning to use it! |

Major League Ironman
A couple of weeks ago I turned on the TV upstairs while working on the computer (tweaking the Ironman website). Since Deadliest Catch was not on, I found the Major League Home Run Derby in the All Star break. I flipped to the channel just in time to see the Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton jack 28 homers out of the stadium...many of which were over 500 feet. The guy was absolutely incredible. "FireProof" Your Marriage - Plan a Date on Sept. 26th!
The Kendrick brothers and Sherwood Baptist Church have done it again. We loved their first 2 movies Flywheel and Facing the Giants. The newest movie called Fireproof comes out in theaters on Sept. 26th. A great way to support your marriage and their ministry would be to take your wife on a date night and go see this movie! OK, generally I try to stay away from music vidoes. In fact, MTV and VH1 have been blocked from our cable channels at home because of the filth.
