Catfish Mania!War Eagle
The catfish waters were good to Team Ironman in May.  We hosted 3 different retreats on both Lake Wateree and Santee.  With each retreat the lines were tight and the Holy Spirit moved in powerful ways!  Some of the Manhood Discussions focused on sexual purity, confession of sin, how to lead your family spiritually, and how to establish an accountability relationship with your spiritual brothers!  A variety of decisions were made on these retreats including salvation... but also men who are going to step up and LIVE OUT WHAT THEY BELIEVE!!!  After a weekend retreat, one father emailed me on Monday and said that he had spent the 2 evenings since the retreat praying with his 9 year old son before bedtime!  That's spiritual fruit that will change your family tree!

And oh by the way, in case you were wondering Team Ironman put more than 500lbs of catfish in our boats on those 3 retreats!  Several fish went over the 30lb mark!  Don't take my word for it, click here to see the pictures!
Sin's Tom-Tom Tom Tom
I recently purchased a Tom Tom unit for my truck.  This decision has not only changed my driving but also CHANGED MY MANHOOD.  Now I can even find my way to difficult locations WITHOUT having to stop and ask for directions.  Tom tells me where I'm at, what BBQ places are nearby, and when I get the cell phone call from Sheron...Tom even tells me exactly what time I will be back home.  It is truly an amazing piece of technology...and it fits nicely in the corner of my Tundra windshield.

Tom does a good job of telling me where I'm at and where I'm going.  I have the priviledge of hearing men's stories on a regular basis.  Not their success stories but their "sin stories."  These are powerful stories about how God has changed men's lives!  Even though the sins are different, the plot always seems to be the same.  Just like a Tom-Tom, the pathway to sin is always predictable.  To read the rest of my thoughts on this topic click here...

In May I was accepted as a new missionary with the North American Mission Board (NAMB).  Through the Mission Service Corps program, I will be able to partner Ironman Outdoors with all the resources and networks of the NAMB.  The NAMB does not provide me financial support so I will still be working my federal job. Please pray for this new opportunity and partnership with the NAMB.  As my friends at THE POINT church in Kentucky say, if Ironman Outdoors were a nascar, the NAMB would be a sticker on the side of the car.
