Greetings!

Summer has arrived in the Pacific Northwest.  Long warm days for play and adventure, cool clear nights to relax and star gaze.  Everything seems more vibrant, hopeful and liberating. And yes, we do have sunshine.

"....to lie on the grass on a summer day listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the sky, is hardly a waste of time"
- John Lubbock

We have had an action packed spring and are busy making preparations for our August 26 - 27, 2011 FUNdraiser event and online auction.  Read details throughout this newsletter on how you can get involved. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all our recent high school and college graduates.  We wish you well in the next UNWRITTEN chapter in your lives.  And Kudos to all of you who have chosen this year to add yourself to your own priority list.  It's your turn to Celebrate and Participate in your life!   WAHOO.

A Special Thanks to Steve Buckley

Celebrating Our Volunteers

To the wonderful man behind the curtain......we thank you and want to acknowledge all the hard work you have been doing to keep Soltura moving forward.  Steve is an active board member, has facilitated almost every men's workshop we have offered since the beginning, has done a lot of the cooking; including the most delicious grilled chicken for the women's workshops, has given us his expert advice on business matters, and now puts a lot of his time into keeping the property beautiful and in working condition.  He has a huge heart and a relentless work ethic.  No matter what, he gets it done..... and in this context, this a statement of complete endearment. Just  another example that Soltura is about people coming together and working towards a similar dream - giving others the opportunity to change this world by rekindling a relationship with themselves.  We are all blessed to have Steve Buckley in our lives.
Carole's Corner
Carole & Cortes

Spring has brought a wonderful change for me.  Cortes and I have moved to the Key Peninsula into a very funky old farmhouse tucked away in the woods.  Cortes has lots of room to spread his paws and I have lots of peace and quiet.  If someone built a perfect house in mind for us this would be it.  We have all kinds of fruit trees that are starting to actually look like a fruit I can name; apples, cherries, grapes and pears with an oblong light green thing with a pit in it that I can't name.  I was hoping they were avocados for Alix but she has already informed me that they are not.  Any ideas?

To me the summer means kayaking, drum circles, outdoor concerts and movies, evening fires on my back deck, and local adventures.  I have also been hitting some of the neighborhood garage sales.  Oh, and lots of workshops. Know you are all taking advantage of the summer and taking time for yourselves!  Hope to see you in August.
