Vol. II, Issue 2 December 2008
Greetings!

It is hard to believe another year has passed and that Soltura has completed its third year of offering workshops to all kinds of folks  from all kinds of places. It has been an incredible journey and during this holiday season we are thankful for our community of friends and loyal supporters. Your journeys inspire us and, simply put, are why we do what we do.

As we head into the holiday season, you are encouraged to take time to BREATHE and listen to your hearts. Remember to honor those in your circle and reconnect with those who may have slipped outside its arc.

Our warmest holiday wishes go out to you and your family ... may  the new year find you healthy and continuing on your path of self-exploration.

Happy Hanukkah and Merry Christmas!

Soltura Goes on the Road in 2009

Lakebay Remodel Begins
Beginning in January 2009, a remodel will begin of the main house used by participants during workshops. The kitchen will be redesigned and a more open floor plan will make it easier for  our guests to gather and socialize. We are hopeful that this beautiful facility will be ready for Soltura's use by late spring or early summer.

The remodel provides the opportunity for us to take the Soltura workshops on the road to different regions of the country and Canada. We will start in January 2009 by returning to Brazos de Dios ranch in Post, Texas to conduct the Part 1 workshop of both the men's and women's trilogy. We hope to be in the midwest or eastern part of the country in February and March and then will travel to Canada in April to conduct the Part 1 workshops in Saskatchewan. See schedule in the left sidebar for workshops that are currently open for registration.

If you or someone you know is interested in participating in a workshop during the upcoming year, check our website often for schedule updates or contact the Soltura office via e-mail at info@soltura.net or by phone at 253.857.3444.

2008 -- A Year of Achievements

Women's ReunionSoltura Highlights
As we look back over the 2008 workshop season it is clear that we experienced a number of "firsts" while strengthening our basic workshop offerings. During the year  17 workshops were conducted (see photos below) with 99 total participants, 40% of whom received assistance through the Share It Forward scholarship fund.

2008 also saw a number of developments, namely:
  • Soltura Foundation was approved for non-profit organization status, making all contributions tax-deductible.
  • Paradoxical Dance, a workshop for couples, was developed and four couples participated in the first workshop conducted in April of 2008.
  • A reunion was held in early August for women who have completed the Wizard of Oz women's trilogy, with 19 women attending. (see photo above)
The accomplishments of this year would not have been possible without the facilitators who donated their time, expertise and love to each workshop ... or all the folks who contributed to our Share it Forward scholarship fund and the Keep the Dream Alive Fund. We could not do this without you. Thank you!
