| Greetings!
We have big and exciting news!
Some of you may know that we have been working very hard for almost a year to establish a non-profit foundation in support of Soltura. Last week we received approval from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for the Soltura Foundation to serve as a tax exempt entity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
This status allows us to grow our Scholarship Fund and raise funds for new projects by accepting tax-deductible donations from supporters. In addition, this tax-exempt status is effective dating back to May 8, 2007, making it possible for supporters who made contributions after that date to claim them as charitable donations on their 2007 income tax returns.
This is a major milestone in our development, opening doors and creating new opportunities. |
| Thank you, Rob & Mary Truland |
 |
The approval for Soltura Foundation could not have been accomplished without Rob and Mary Truland who contributed their time, expertise and provided the legal resources necessary to complete the required processes to establish this foundation. |

Bill and Kayce Hughlett have supported Soltura's growth from the very beginning, contributing in many ways - Kayce by facilitating workshops and helping create promotional materials, Bill with business advice, his incredible photographs of Soltura events and serving as a support facilitator. They added to this in 2007 by making a sizable donation in an early show of confidence that our tax-deductible status would be approved.
Thank you, Bill and Kayce! |
| Get Involved and Contribute |
We need your support in our Spring fundraising efforts. You can help Soltura Foundation by making a tax-deductible donation to either of these funds:
- Pay It Forward Scholarship Fund allows Soltura to make our workshops available to more people by providing financial assistance to individuals with limited resources.
- Keep the Dream Alive Fund is used to purchase essential equipment or supplies and expand our workshop services. The current goal for this fund is to purchase a used 12-15 passenger vehicle for transporting workshop participants.
To make a contribution by mail, send your check or money order payable to "Soltura Foundation" to:
Soltura Foundation
P.O. Box 445
Gig Harbor, WA 98335
To make an honorary or a memorial donation, please include the name of the person(s) to be honored or remembered, along with the name(s) and address(es) of anyone who should be notified of the gift. We will send a prompt acknowledgment of the gift.
Anyone who needs a receipt for their charitable donation (including in-kind donations) made to Soltura after May 8, 2007 should contact Carolyn Mafteiu in the Soltura office at Carolyn@soltura.net |
