Vol. II, Issue 1 March 2008
Greetings!

Spring is around the corner and we have planted a few bulbs that are ready to bloom. The last few months have been a period of development and creativity, and the fruits of that investment are nearing completion. Kayce H. and Carole have been working on a new workshop for couples, the Soltura Foundation Board of Directors is getting organized, our website has been updated, and some special events are being planned. With the 2008 workshop schedule under way, our presence on the Internet is beginning to take root and generate inquiries from more people, though most attendees still find Soltura through word-of-mouth referrals from former participants.

We see 2008 as a year of growth - in numbers of people who participate in workshops, in the variety of workshops offered, in fundraising efforts, in communication efforts and more. We hope this newsletter finds our community of supporters ready for an active and productive year.

Spring forward!

First Couples Workshop to be Held in April

The Paradoxical Dance
In our last newsletter we asked if there was interest in a workshop designed specifically for couples. Our community responded and the new workshop - The Paradoxical Dance - will debut in April. Five couples have registered for the workshop that will be facilitated by Kayce and Bill Hughlett, Carole Rosenberg and Rob Gosselink. To be eligible for the workshop, each member of the couple must have previously completed the first workshop in either the men's or women's workshop trilogy. The workshop will focus on tools for enriching a couple's relationship and helping navigate rough waters when they occur.

Stay tuned for a progress report on this new workshop in our next newsletter.
Returning Home  Celebration Planned

Summer Gathering
Six groups of women have now completed the women's workshop trilogy - and many of them have accepted our invitation to gather at Lakebay July 30 - August 3 to celebrate and catch up with each other. The agenda is being described as "by choice" and will consist of morning readings, sharing groups, guided meditations, drum circles, dancing, play time and relaxtion. We're sure there will be lots of reminiscing, storytelling and laughter as well. Participants will be free to enjoy the beautiful waterfront property and come and go as they please. If you have not yet responded to your invitation, please contact our office as soon as possible.

All women who have completed the three workshops in the women's trilogy are invited to attend. If for any reason you did not receive your invitation sent out last month, please contact the Soltura office (info@soltura.net or 253.857.3444) for details.
Soltura Website Gets a Face Lift

New Soltura WebsiteNew Slideshows
The updated Soltura website has been launched after several months of work to update and expand the information available. Most exciting are the slideshows found on the Home page - one highlighting the workshops for women, and another showcasing workshops for men. Visitors can simply click on one of the images to view a slideshow. We also include information about our new workshop facility in Washington, added new testimonials, and expanded the "Frequently Asked Questions" (FAQ) section. Please take a few minutes to visit Soltura.net and then drop us an email to let us know your feedback.

We want to send a special THANK YOU to Kristin at Stephen Joseph Inc. for all her hard work in updating the website design ... and for her patience in putting up with our lack of technical knowledge.

Board Development & Fundraising Committee - Bill Hughlett, Chair; Rob Truland, Ann Powell, Steve Buckley.

Finance Committee - Richard Taylor, Chair; David Verbeten, Steve Buckley.

Several Facilitators Gather for Day of Fun

Facilitators Ride the DuckRiding the Ducks
The end of February found a small group of 'Soltura Sisters' gathered in Gig Harbor and Lakebay. It was a time to get together without a workshop, to discuss facilitating, work a bit on a project for Soltura, and visit Seattle and 'ride the duck.' [a guided tour of Seattle in a land-watercraft vehicle - click photo to see enlarged view.] Alix B. has new appreciation for the Duck riders and 70's music. There was much laughter, singing and walking in the rain through Seattle. Pike Street Market, flying fish and the smell of fresh baked bread. Watching the street singers and wondering if that would be a good fundraiser???  Having a delicious dinner and meeting up with another Soltura sister, Mary Beth G, who was in Seattle on business added more fun to the day. Visit SolturaOnline to learn more about our day of fun.

Soltura offers personal growth workshops for men and women, young people and adults. Our participants range from people who are struggling with a new challenge in their life to folks who realize their life is not as fullfilling as they had envisioned it. We strive to help participants reconnect with their inner strengths, face life issues and find meaningful ways to move forward. It is not uncommon for several members of a family to engage in the Soltura journey - always individually, not together in the same workshop - thereby providing a common language and frame of reference for communication and discussion of challenges facing the family.

We have also found that by participating in the Soltura trilogy of workshops, our clients meet new people who almost without exception become close friends and a great support network.

Soltura workshops are a personal experience. Not sure our workshops are for you? Contact us at (253) 857-3444 or by e-mail at info@Soltura.net. Let's talk about your situation or your concern and determine together whether Soltura is right for you.
