Greetings!
Given that another January has rolled around, I'm resisting the urge to write the obligatory newsletter article on how you need to establish your fitness goals, develop your plan, work your plan, blah, blah, blah. If you're like me, you've probably already been bombarded with dozens of articles on this topic, so I'm not sure there is anything new I could add. Instead, let's just cut to the chase. For most of our society, we just need to move more and eat less...it's that simple. Unfortunately, just because it's simple doesn't mean it's easy. Therefore, I'm going to share the two best tips for fitness and nutrition I've learned (but don't always follow) in my twenty plus years in the fitness industry. Best Fitness Tip Ever - Determine what priority you place on your health and fitness and then you will exercise in accordance with that level of priority. If you place a high priority on your health, I can guarantee you will find the time and energy to workout regularly. If you don't...I'm sure you already know the answer. Best Nutrition Tip Ever - Identify what poor eating habit you have that keeps you from being at your desired weight and then change that habit. For example, if you like to snack at night after dinner (I'm speaking from experience here), then find a way to break that habit. You could come to the club in the evening and exercise, go to a movie but skip the popcorn and soda, enroll in a dance class, take your dog for a walk, etc. Oops, looks like I couldn't help myself, I just had to write another article about how to improve your health and fitness and ultimately your life. I hope it has helped. See you at the club, Rod Sears, CEO
