Aspen Activities
Greetings!

I came across an interesting book recently which explores the link between physical fitness and financial health.  Fiscal Fitness is co-authored by fitness icon Jack LaLanne and Matthew Rettick a renowned financial planning expert.

The basic premise of this book is that if you are not in good physical condition you will end up missing out on your golden years.  Conversely, you may be in good health, but if you are not financially prepared for retirement, you may out live your savings and not enjoy those years as you would want.

Fiscal Fitness will help you to:

Eat right and enjoy it for your lifetime
            Exercise your body's bank account
            Reverse the aging process
            Insure your financial future

This book is about decreasing your aches and pains, increasing your energy, strengthening your financial fitness, eliminating your debts, and gaining peace of mind.  Sounds like good lessons all of us could learn or review during these challenging times.

I look forward to seeing you in the club.

AAC Tennis Goes Back To School!

Tennis Pic- March09The Aspen Athletic Clubs Tennis staff went back to school recently, Horizon elementary school to be more precise. Director of Tennis Gary Scholl and other pro staff spent a week teaching tennis to 3rd, 4th and 5th graders during their regular P.E class. Mini nets and other equipment was taken and set up in the school gym which allowed 20-25 kids at a time to get a sample of tennis. The students got basic stoke instruction learning forehands, backhands and serves. The classes were taught using the new United States Tennis Association program "Quickstart" tennis. Quickstart allows children to learn the basics of tennis quickly in a more active and fun environment as opposed to having kids standing in line waiting for ever for a chance to hit 1 ball. Quickstart is also offered at the Aspen Hickman location 3 days a week.
