Council's Social Responsibility Task Force schedules Second Annual Philanthropy Awards Breakfast

Deadline for nominations is Friday, August 31

One of the Contra Costa Council's
most inspiring events is on its way. Council members and the general public are invited to the Second Annual Contra Costa Philanthropy Awards breakfast, which will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Hilton Concord. The early-morning event is a celebration of the outstanding contributions of time, leadership and financial support made by many businesses, individuals and families, and nonprofit organizations throughout the county every day. The awards program also serves to build awareness and inspire more organizations to get involved in philanthropy in Contra Costa. Last year, more than 450 people attended the awards breakfast.

Deadline for award nominations is Friday, August 31, 2012. Categories include Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist (small, medium and large companies), Outstanding Philanthropist, Outstanding Foundation or Community Grant Maker, Outstanding Collaborative Project, Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement.

Submit the nomination form online

Organizations may nominate themselves for an award, but must have a letter of support from a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. A nonprofit organization may make multiple nominations. Nominees do not have to be members of the Contra Costa Council. (Click here for the nomination form or visit www.contracostacouncil.com.)

A prestigious panel, representing all sectors of the community and government, has been formed to select the individuals and organizations to be honored.

Offering the breakfast keynote address will be Elaine Taylor, president of the Taylor Family Foundation of Livermore, whose mission is to preserve the wellness and enhance the quality of life for children in Northern California living with life-threatening and chronic illnesses and developmental disabilities, and youth at-risk, through unique therapeutic experiences and support.

Please plan to attend and invite friends and other members of our community to join you. You are also encouraged to nominate deserving individuals, and there will be an opportunity to honor award recipients by naming them as table honorees.
