Comments, observations, opinions, etc. about items in the WLA Monthly News and/or things in and about the neighborhood, including recommendations you want to pass on.
If the concerts and Shakespeare are happening, why is there no mention here (July issue)? Even if there aren't any specific dates, and I thought there were, are these events merely tentative? If not, there should be something huge here announcing them. Our monthly news is tax amnesty? That's what is going on? No banners on the streets, no hint of programs. Whenever a person I know from Mar Vista runs into me, he asks me if we are having concerts, and I have to stand there like an idiot with nothing to tell him. This whole thing is not going well. This monthly news is virtually worthless and a poor use of DONE money. Sorry to be critical, but this is pathetic. For God's sake, it's July. The least it could say is Happy Fourth of July. Just to tap into people's emotions. However if nothing following that would be of interest to anyone but a policy wonk, what's the point? And I still think the format is graphically dull along with the colors which reminds me of pea soup, cream of wheat and carrots.
