Your comments, observations, opinions, etc. about items in the West LA News or anything else in and about the neighborhood! Let us hear from you and share your views! My name is Daryl Olesinski and I am a representative of the Goethe International Charter School, a new Bi Lingual Charter Elementary School setting to open in fall of '09.
We have a strong parent Board of Directors and even stronger community of committed parents eager for this school to open in this area. We are currently looking fore space in the Palms, Mar Vista and West Los Angeles neighborhoods to locate our school in.
This facility needs to be either in a C2, C3, C4, C5, CR, R4 or R5 zone or have an E-1 Occupancy for it to work. Our requirements are simple, either an existing facility that can house our 8-10 class rooms or a facility of around 10,000 sq. ft. that can be remodeled to accommodate those needs.
We are a willing and strong tenant with a very secure future. If the location and building are a good fit, we have the ability to remodel as required to make the building what we need it to be. I have attached our Fact Sheet and additional information about the school. Many or our parents are West Los Angeles citizens and would love the school to be located close to home. It is a benefit to all in these neighborhoods as this institution will bring value to the community. If you can be of any assistance or know of any leads we may pursue, please do hesitate to let me know. Thank you, Daryl Olesinski www.OplusL.com 3611 Kelton Ave LA, CA 90034 310-204-1720

At the request of the West Los Angeles Neighborhood Council, the Big Blue Bus will be holding more meetings in Los Angeles.
They have announced a meeting for Tuesday night, Dec. 9, at 6:00 pm., in community room B. See the attached flyer.
The BBB will announce changes, including line 4, which terminates at the Westside Pavilion. It goes down Sawtelle Ave. in West Los Angeles, a historic district and one of our major retail areas.
Neighbors from our two areas might want to ask BBB for longer hours. I know I would like to take a bus to go to a movie at Landmark, and BBB line 4 shuts down before 8 pm.
My personal issues with the Big Blue Bus include traffic problems caused by bus vehicles, excessive honking and other violations. You may want to comment about those things or other aspects of their service.
The West Side neighborhood also benefits from BBB lines 5, 7, 8, 12 and 13, as well as line 4. Lines 12 and 13 are routes that are completely outside the city of Santa Monica.
West LA lines also include Line 1, Santa Monica, Line 2 Wilshire Boulevard, Line 10 Bundy to downtown LA, Line 14 Bundy Blvd, as well as the lines 4, 5, 7 that we share with the West Side. Cross the street to the north side of Wilshire Boulevard at Federal, and you can catch bus 3 to LAX.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES DISTRACTING ELDERLY VICTIMS Increase in home burglaries in Pacific Palisades, Westwood, and West L.A.... organized groups of thieves target vulnerable elderly citizens using trickery or distraction to gain access to residences and remove property.
