Rafting on the river, Likkle Porti in Portland, January 18, 2012
There is no place like home, so it is great to be back in my native Jamaica, escaping the cold weather for a bit, soaking up the sun, partying with my people who nuh nawmal (not normal), enjoying the beauty and vibes of the island, and reconnecting with family and friends.  This will be a very brief editorial because I just wanted to bring your awareness to a few things which I am doing in Jamaica (apart from the obvious, of course).

Please enjoy the photos and video clips below and stay tuned for formal shows in Season 3 of PEP Talk which will be shot LIVE on location in Jamdung.  Special thanks again to the CaribVision Network (The Eyes and Ears of the Caribbean) for playing my show since we launched last year.  This is my first time back in Jamaica since PEP Talk launched so it is really cool to be able to watch myself on regular in MY country and and have my friends call me to say "Hey, Rosie, yuh deh pan TV.   Mi a watch yuh right now pan Flow channel 186. Gwaaaaaaaan chru my girl."  I love it!  I also love the fact that while I am here, I can watch many other interesting Caribbean programs and learn more about the region. Click HERE for the CaribVision January 15-21, 2012 Schedule.

Thanks to everyone who is making my stay enjoyable, educational and peppy (Odette, the Lilford Avenue massive, my family, Richard, Nattie, TBone, Ainsley and so many others).  The slogan "Come to Jamaica and feel alright" is NOT a cliche.

Until we rap again, tek it easy and one love,

SEASON 3 TEASER

Hopeton Burke's PEP Talk in Jamaica (part 1)
Hopeton Burke's PEP Talk in Jamaica (part 1)
While here, I had to make sure that I also do my community service.  On Thursday, January 19, I had the great opportunity to travel to Breadnut Hill Primary School in Colgate, St. Ann to spend a day with the students and staff of the school.
Mr. Hopeton Burke, a board member of Read Across Jamaica was there on one of their mission trips and when he found out that I was on the island, I was invited.
It was an amazing day.  The children were beautiful, the staff awesome, the company divine, and the ride to and from Ocho Rios scenic and fun.  The highlight of my day was having an interactive reading session with the children.

All that glitters is not gold so please understand that the school is in desperate need of support:  financial and otherwise.  According to Ms. Minott, literacy coordinator "We need lots of help to improve the structure of the school but as far as literacy is concerned, we are in desperate need of books for boys aged 6-12."

If you would like to help, please shoot me an email at peppypromotions@gmail.com so I can coordinate that.
