Me, Gange and my "twin," Stan Evan Smith celebrating PEPtember
|
Family, I am happy, honored, and humbled by the outpouring of your birthday wishes. I did not have time to respond to each of you individually and will not have time (because the wishes came in many hundreds). Please know that each of you made me smile, and enhanced my experience on my special day. Yes, I had a wonderful day and am still celebrating all of PEPtember (big up to Melame Gange for that one), but just had to pop in to say thanks, thanks, and more thanks! I hope you are feeling my love. If you are a fellow Virgo, and you do it like I do it, I know you are living your life like it is golden, maximizing your opportunities, learning and growing each day, and being kind to everyone in passing. I hope that each of you who is reading this Newsletter is feeling highly blessed just for being alive. I know I am! Tomorrow is the beginning of a brand new Season (Autumn/Fall). As the environment and temperature change, it is also a good time for YOU to start making new and improved changes to your life because before you can say "PEP Talk!" it will be 2012. I already gave myself a head start because improving myself daily is one of my favorite things to do these days. Until I get off my personal hiatus and have more time to rap with you, stay well and remember that you cannot change others, but you have the power to change YOU. On September 21, several members of the A-APRP, the CPP, the Pan-African Information Organization and other demonstrators were arrested in Accra, Ghana for demonstrating against the NATO invasion in Libya!! On September 21, Troy Anthony Davis was executed by the State of Georgia. "At 11:08 pm, the state of Georgia killed Troy Davis. Just before he was executed, Troy maintained his innocence, urged people to dig deeper into the case to find the truth, and said "For those about to take my life, may God have mercy on your souls, may God bless your souls." It's a tragic day for Troy, for his family, and for equality, fairness, and justice. It's hard to know what to say at a time like this. In this moment, and in the days and weeks before Troy's execution, we've felt all kinds of things - anger, sadness, inspiration, hope and hopelessness." (Submitted by ColorofChange.org) READ MORE HERE. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
