Dear Family,
As we close out February and welcome March, I would like to wish you a very wonderful last few days of February. This month came and went like the wind and I feel like I am still trying to catch my breath from 2010. Just in case I do not tell you enough, I really appreciate your support (especially those of you who were there with me from the more humbler beginning stages).
Even though we are pushing the envelope and spreading our wings to Radio and TV, we are still most passionate about our weekly eNewsletters and are constantly trying to find peppier ways to say connected with you. We want you to be involved so if you have the gift of gab and/or know of a news item we can use, be sure to send us an email and we will most certainly include it.
Regarding the social networking sites: "tweeting" is not something we love to do, so if you have been following us on
Twitter, do not look for everyday messages from us (we are working on that but it will take some time). We have both a personal and business page on Facebook and encourage you to connect with us there so you can hear both our personal and business thoughts, all day long, everyday. We are still on Myspace and will not leave there despite how many other new sites come along. Myspace has been great to us and we are very loyal.
With all of that said, we understand that you have come to rely on us to get your news, happenings, etc. We want to be THE preferred choice but we also want YOU to do some work on your own so you can give yourself the maximum benefit of finding out what is happening in YOUR area. Our goal is to not rob you of your independence.
Speaking of independence...Happy Independence to Grenada (February 7); St. Lucia (February 22); and Dominican Republic (February 27). I have been to both St. Lucia and Dominican Republic and am thinking of visiting Grenada very soon. The Caribbean Students Association of Columbia University is looking for volunteers and donors as they visit Grenada from March 12-19 to do community service, so please link up with Samantha Jackson at sj2374@columbia.edu if you would like to help! That would be a great opportunity for you to visit a beautiful Caribbean island while also doing volunteer service.
Let us all pray for Buju Banton. He won the Grammy but he was also handed a guilty verdict (click HERE to read more about his case). Join me in chanting the 23rd Psalm as Buju deals with his fate of facing 15 years to life...so sad.
Continue to celebrate Black History month and join me in welcoming March which is Women's History Month.
Cheers,
