A Message from the Counsel General of the UNIA-ACL, Faruq Muhammad

(At right: UNIA-ACL President General, Senghor Baye and Counsel General, Faruq Muhammad)
21st Century Garveyism took on it's shape
and form on December 27, 2009 when the
UNIA took a bold and decisive step to
publicly re-declare its sovereignty.
Lead by President General Senghor Baye,
many UNIA officials, and members from across the country, made a transition from a
membership based entity, to a citizenship structure that
conforms with global government.
"Kujichagulia", the Kwanzaa day of Self-
Determination, will now have deeper meanings as the UNIA took the vanguard to add government to Pan
Africanism. These steps, based upon the teachings and works of the great and Honorable Marcus Garvey, has now created a
legal alternative for black people.
The ultimate
goal is to establish dual citizenship between
various countries in Africa and the UNIA.
On behalf of the UNIA, I would like to thank Zanzibar on the Waterfront, Peppy Entertainment & Promotions, the UNIA core team, all the vendors, our special guests, and the performers: Farafina Kan, Laini Mataka, Ivy Hylton and Friends, The Malcolm X Drummers and Dancers and Precise Science for an incredible show.
We appreciate every person who came out to celebrate Kwanzaa with us, and are eternally grateful for our UNIA members who came from Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago and Philadelphia.
