Edmond Family Center for Autism
News from EFCA
March 2010

Come bring your family and enjoy the EFCA once a month!
We meet the second Tuesday night of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 and have something for the entire family.
Our children's group always has a great time with toys, games, snacks, movies and much more; and the child care providers have been trained by the Oklahoma Autism Network to care for your child on the spectrum.
Our Teen to Teen group always proves to be a great time with discussions, games, snacks and more.
Our "Friends" group allows adults on the spectrum to have a time of fellowship with friends.

Come bring your entire family and experience the EFCA experience!!

Parent Group
Transitions in Autism

Transitions can be tough for everyone. Each person on the spectrum and all ages has it's challenges when it comes to transitioning. Join us this March as we discuss meaningful planning to enhance quality of life. We will discuss transitions in elementary grades, involving your child in the post-high school transition process, successfully transitioning between jobs, and transitions in sibling relationships.

EFCA Teen 2 Teen

How Rude!

Good manners, proper behavior and not grossing people out!
We will be discussing how to have good manners and proper behavior in school and with our friends. Come join us as we laugh through funny and akward situations and how to handle them and what to say. After we will enjoy a snack and play a game.

Please let me remind you that you must either email or call to register for the teen group going forward. This is a new rule that the church is enforcing for safety purposes they must know who is going to attend. To register your teen ages 12 to 16 please email or call Crystal Frost at crystal@okautism-ofca.com or 405-315-6337 please give your teens first and last name and age. This must be done at each meeting.

EFCA Features Our Amazing Kids
Amazing Kids!!!

Its been a while since we have had an amazing kids portion. This portion of our meetings are so uplifting and also a great way for your child to learn to be in front of others. So come on you know you want to show your kids off, so who's next? Give me a call today and set this up!!!

We encourage you all to speak to your kids about "Our Amazing Kids" portion of the meetings. This is a great way to break down barriers of speaking in front of others, sharing experiences, and participation. If your kid is interested please contact Crystal Frost at crystal@okautism-ofca.com.
