The CDC recently released a new report about autism prevalence. It states that 1 in 70 boys in the US is affected by autism and 1 in 110 children has autism spectrum disease. As part of the autism community this probably is not shocking to you but it is to others. For the first time ever people are starting to pay attention and wonder and get involved in their local autism communities. I am putting a challenge out to all of our families today to do one simple thing, tell people about your life, share your experience and lets start reaching out to the other families in our area who may not have heard of the EFCA and lets help them get plugged in, join the Piece Walk and 5K and show your support to your community, get others involved in your life so we don't have to be the odd ones out any more because frankly we are becoming the norm with the rate in which the prevalence is rising.
