Several New Media clients, not to mention New Media itself, are swept up in the Social Media Social Callrevolution. Green CoverSo we're knee-deep in production on Renewable Energy Long Island's biannual Green Guide. The mission sounded easy - create the Island's ultimate environmental resource - but then we realized we live in the greening capital of the world.

Tales From the Rolodex
New Media's Friends and Allies are Busier Than Ever
  • New Media Marketinghas announced a new partnership with another of Long Island's brightest communications firms - Roosevelt Strategy Group, headed by the indefatigable Anthony Manetta. Islandia-based RSG's dual focus on corporate advisory and strategic consulting is the ideal complement to New Media's ground-up marketing mastery, according to principals on both sides. Manetta called it a "natural partnership," while New Media Vice President Joseph Lapiana called RSG's "professional PR edge" a "perfect match" for New Media's existing services.

  • Renewable Energy Long Islandhas chosen New Media to assume creative control of RELI's biannual publication, the LI GreenGuide. New Media's exciting mission is to turn an already informative, successful guide into Long Island's indispensable commercial and residential resource for all things green. Ace copywriter Jeff Borno is on the case, sharing thinks up and down the New Media chain and crafting content sure to keep the GreenGuide on every coffee table and conference table on Long Island. Look for your copy early this fall

  • Wales-Darby, the Islandia-based titan of the plumbing and HVAC industries, played host July 24 to the inaugural meeting of the Green Island Coalition, an umbrella of union representatives, corporate powers and Island-wide policymakers dedicated to public health and cost-effective sustainability. Endorsed by the national Green Mechanical Council, the coalition has about 15 environmentally sensitive construction projects on its radar; first up was the $75 million expansion of Long Island Islip MacArthur Airport's Waste-to-Energy Facility. Among those attending the first meeting: Islip Supervisor Phil Nolan, airport Commissioner Teresa Rizzuto, representatives of UA Plumbers Local 200 and IBEW Local 25, Wales-Darby President Brian Darby, New Media VP Joseph Lapiana and Matt Ferber, Angelo D'Alessandro and Joe Morganti, partners in Manorville's Green Synergy Systems.

  • Speaking of Wales-Darby and the Green Mechanical Council: GreenMech Executive Director Jo Keirns announced Aug. 8 that Wales-Darby was its latest member organization. The Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit is dedicated to educating contractors, field technicians and industry leaders about environmentally healthy residential and commercial mechanical systems, and Wales-Darby's efforts in that direction - including its multipurpose, multidimensional Energy Learning Center - have caught the council's eye. "The Green Mechanical Council appreciates the support of Wales-Darby," GreenMech said in a release announcing the Islandia firm's membership. "With their support, we're able to further the educational goals of our organization."

  • Bill Klein, costar of The Learning Channel's "The Little Couple" and chief operating officer of Long Island-based marketing, training and telecommunications firm Emerge Sales, was in Islandia Aug. 14 to finalize Emerge's alliance with New Media. The partnership - arranged by Klein, Emerge Chief Executive Michael Sperduti and New Media C.O.O. Chris Graziose - will allow each company to boost the other by providing the services it does best. New Media will make use of Emerge's cutting-edge consulting, lead-generation and telemarketing skills while effecting a bottom-up rebranding of Emerge and its expert services.
