Evareaders Tuesday, January 26th at 7 p.m. Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo After sixty years of living in the upstate New York town of Thomaston, Louis Charles and Sarah, his wife of forty years, prepare for a trip to Italy to visit Louis's childhood friend, an artist who fled his hometown many years earlier.

Back to Basics Yoga Wednesday, January 6th at 7 pmwith Karin Johnson, certified yoga instructor Learn a bit about the history and philosophy of yoga, then Karin will demonstrate various asanas, or poses, which attendees will practice before going on to a 30 minute yoga session. Please bring a large towel or mat, as well as a yoga strap or smaller towel.

Holiday Reading Challenge! Pick up your Holiday Reading Challenge sheet at the Youth Desk Nov. 16 through Dec. 31 and decorate our gingerbread house! Color a candy picture to decorate our "Gingerbread House Display". Return your completed reading sheet for a small prize by Dec. 31st.
Gingerbread Houses Kindergarten and up Saturday, Dec. 12, two sessions - 10:00 or 11:00 a.m. Bring a clean, empty half pint or pint sized milk carton and we will help you turn it into a gingerbread house! Parents are encouraged to stay and help younger children. Please register at the Youth Services Desk or call 387-2100.
Holiday Crafts for ages 2-8 Monday, Dec. 21, 10:00-12:00 Drop by the library anytime between 10 and 12, and make a simple holiday craft. No registration necessary.
NCCBA Book Club for ages 5-8
Registration required We'll listen to different stories nominated for the 2010 North Carolina Children's Book Award in each of the programs in this series, then do a related craft, see a puppet show, and more!
