If you're wondering about the foxy gent on our masthead, I spotted him on Midsummer's Day, enjoying the library's back garden. Perhaps seeking relief from writer's cramp at that high desk, he was rambling through at his leisure, with a pause here and there to twirl a whisker or sniff a flower.
Happy holidays!

Neither Emily nor the rehab center representative accompanying her make it to the center, though. The representative is found dead in a car at the airport parking lot, and Emily is being sought as her killer. You won't want to put the book down as you follow Barbara's desperate search to find her daughter and clear her name. -- Debbie

Splat by Rob
Scotton (E SCOTTON)
It's the night before Christmas, and Splat the cat wonders if he's been a
good enough to deserve a really big present from Santa. Just to make sure, he
does extra chores and in typical Splat fashion, he messes up completely! That
night, Splat stays awake all night hoping to see Santa Claus. Does Splat see
Santa? Does he get his really big present?
Read and find out!
Circus
Ship by Chris Van Dusen (E
VAN DUSEN)
When a ship runs aground off the
coast of Maine, the circus animals onboard are forced to swim through the cold waters
to safety. The townspeople are naturally frightened of tigers and lions and
bears, but the animals soon win them over with their kind ways. All too soon,
the mean, greedy circus owner returns to claim them. It is fun to see how the
writer - illustrator Chris Van Dusen cleverly hides the animals in the brightly
colored illustrations.
Odd and the Frost Giants by Neil Gaiman (J GAIMAN)
In ancient Norway, a boy named Odd
is forced out into the wintry woods. There he encounters three talking
creatures, a fox, a bear and an eagle who tell Odd a fantastic story. Now Odd
must embark on a journey to save Asgard, the city of the gods, from the Frost Giants who have invaded it. Is
Odd up to the challenge and can he return Asgard to the gods who should
rightfully live there?
Murder at Midnight by Avi (J
AVI)
Someone is spreading treasonous leaflets
all over the village. Is it the magician Mangus and his servant Fabrizio?
The king thinks so and it is up
