Customer Service Survey
Recently, in every library in the system, we asked our patrons to complete a customer satisfaction survey. We were encouraged by the 97.5% system response rate! That is to say 15,806 individuals completed the survey in Wake County.

At Cameron Village, nearly 2000 customers completed the survey. We learned some interesting things about how our visitors use us:

  • 52.4% of our customers do not have children under the age of 18 within the household, compared to a response rate of 37.7% in the library system as a whole
  • Both groups of customers, that is, Cameron Village customers and system customers, say that they visit at least once a month (46.6% CAM; 46.3% WCPL)
  • Staff members were rated highly in terms of being courteous and knowledgeable in both survey sets--above 70% approval rates
  • In both groups, fewer than 50% generally find what they came to the library looking for
  • Over 75% of both customer groups find the library to be clean; but only 50% of the same number find our restrooms to be clean
  • Only 34.5% of our customers come to library programs and events but the approval rate for those that do exceeds 64%
  • Finally, our overall approval rate for the library and for the system was 76.5% and 73.3%, respectively and over 98% would recommend the library to a friend or family member

Thank you for giving us your thoughts and sharing comments on how we can best serve you, your families, and your friends.

    Dale Cousins, Regional Library Supervisor
