Celebrating Temporary Staff and Volunteers!

On April 23, 2009 the Cameron Village Library staff celebrated the folks who work behind the scenes to keep us open each and every day. The staff provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a "floating" reception to thank these folks for the wonderful work they do for us and for our library customers. We are very fortunate to have so many helpers. If you see a library Page or Volunteer, please offer your thanks as well.

Our Pages and Volunteers empty the backdrops and check in books (even on holidays!). They also shelve books in all three departments. They help us with our weekly inventory reports to trace missing books. They search for special requests and then label and shelve the books being held for customers.  They assist with special projects, public programs, displays, and Interlibrary Loan processing.

They are truly the glue that holds us together, using 170 hours of Page aid (hourly employees) and an average of 190 hours a week of Volunteer assistance. We could not open our doors without the valuable service they provide. Hats off to these great folks!

Dale Cousins, Regional Library Director
