Database of the Month
  Teacher Resource Center
What is Teacher Resource Center?
It is an EBSCO database that provides access to articles from popular teacher and administrator journals, as well as magazines and books for K-12 teachers and librarians.
Why use it?
Teacher Resource Center is a database designed specifically for teachers. It helps provide teachers with resources for their students.  For example, teachers, administrators, parents, and students can learn about the features, functionality, and advantages of tools such as online databases. Teachers will also find articles, links, web sites, communication shortcuts, and curriculum integration materials.
What is the best way to use it?
If your patrons are not familiar with this resource, give them a quick presentation showing how they can use the database to find information for forming lesson plans for whichever subject they teach.  That's generally a good ice-breaking scenario for a teacher.
For practice...
The best results generally come from using the Advanced Search option, and also be sure to select the Full Text box.  Once you get to the Advanced Search fields, try entering a subject like "Mathematics" or "English" into the first field and enter "Lesson plans" into one of the lower fields.  Perform your search, check your results, and select the relevant articles to show to your educator patrons.  They'll love it!
