What will you be doing on Alzheimer's Action Day, 9/21/11?
On September 21st I'll be talking to caregivers, gathering information to take with me to Washington the following week for the first meeting of the Federal Advisory Council on Alzheimer's Research, Care, and Services.
With the National Alzheimer's Project Act, President Obama and the Congress have recognized the fight against Alzheimer's as a national priority, and now it's up to all of us to join that fight and make our voices heard.
Why do you participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's™?
I participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer's in memory of my grandfather who had Alzheimer's, of my dad who had dementia, and of my grandmother and mom who took care of them. I walk to support all the people currently engaged in the struggle with Alzheimer's -- patients, caregivers, doctors and researchers. I walk to end Alzheimer's because I believe we can end it, and because I know we must.
