Facts and Figures report details escalating Alzheimer's epidemic
An estimated 5.4 million Americans have Alzheimer's, including 110,000 in Minnesota and North Dakota. Nearly 15 million people care for someone with the disease. The Alzheimer's Association's 2011 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures report details the growing prevalence and escalating impact of Alzheimer's and dementia on individuals, caregivers, families, government and the nation's healthcare system. This year's edition also includes a special report on early detection and diagnosis.

National Healthcare Decisions Day
April 16, 2011, marks the fourth annual National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD). NHDD is a nationwide program committed to ensuring that all adults with decision-making capacity have the information and opportunity to communicate and document their healthcare decisions. Events will be held around Minnesota and in Fargo, North Dakota this month, giving people the opportunity to learn more about and complete a healthcare directive.
