News from the Portland Metro Area ReStore
|
The news this month is of course that spring is upon us. And with spring comes lots of flowers, and lots of donations. A couple of weeks ago we looked around and thought the place a tad empty, not today! The great stuff is just rolling in. All the changes we've been making to make room for the good stuff is paying off nicely. We have lots more room to put all this great material.
And we need more. We are always looking for new businesses to partner up with. As well as businesses who would like to sponsor us by purchasing some space on our truck for their logo. We have even formed a Donor Marketing Committee to help us make connections with more businesses. So if you would like to join this committee please contact Joe at jconnell@pdxrestore.org.
Of course you don't have to join the committee to refer businesses to us, or us to them. Just send along the name of any business you think we should be working with. If you have a personal contact and we can use your name that's even better.
We are also still looking for folks to help with the newsletter. If you have any interest in writing articles, researching links and interesting related stories, or anything else that you think would be fun, please contact me and we'll get you involved.

The Northwest Home Show is just around the corner!
And we still need some help!
April 20th to 22nd (Sunday), 10 am to 9pm Friday and Saturday and 10am to 6pm Sunday. This event is taking place at the Oregon Convention Center, located near the Rose Garden between First Ave. and Martin Luther King Blvd. This is a large show, described by the Event Group as "everything home, garden, and design." There will be a celebrity stage, live music, food and beverage venders, two feature areas, a garden pavilion and much more. Several families and individual volunteers have committed themselves to working a three hour shift manning the event booth and I would like to take this opportunity to thank each of them for their generosity. We could still use additional volunteers for several shifts, these include; Friday (1pm to 4pm & 4pm to 7pm), Saturday (4pm to 7pm), and Sunday (10am to 1pm and 1pm to 4pm).
Volunteers receive free admission to the show and access to its events and exhibitors in addition to assisting Habitat for Humanity in educating the public about the Restore and its mission. We appreciate your interest and look forward to seeing you there.
If you have an interest in volunteering for this event please contact Shane Butler at shane@pdxrestore.org or by phone at 503-283-6247 (please press 3 when the message starts). |
