Dark Knight in Aurora: Can entertaining violence be redeemed?

The Aurora shooting reminds us, once again, of the connection between violent entertainments and our culture of violence. A disturbed young man broke into a movie theater during the opening screening of the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, armed with an array of guns, and shot randomly into the crowd, killing 12 people and injuring dozens more.
