Healthcare professionals form new organization
By Everett J. Thomas Mennonite Medical Association and the Mennonite Nurses Association will cease to exist as separate organizations and form the Mennonite Healthcare Fellowship. At the Mennonite Health Assembly in San Antonio on March 11, Jone Friesen (left), from Tulsa, Okla., and Phyllis Mishler (right), from North Newton, Kan., announced that the merger will take place at a June 23-36 gathering for members from both organizations. The gathering will be at the Laurelville Retreat Center in Mount Pleasant, Pa. Friesen said the organization is for individuals with Anabaptist values working in health care; its purpose will be to help heathcare providers integrate faith and practice.
