Hispanic leaders release letter about Phoenix convention

This week the Executive Board is expected to make a decision about whether Mennonite Church USA's 2013 convention should be held in Phoenix. The Executive Board plans to meet in Tampa, Fla., Jan. 7-9.

On Dec. 16, 2010, the Executive Board released a statement saying it was "leaning toward" a Phoenix convention despite concerns about Arizona's new immigration law that allows law enforcement officials to require proof of citizenship for anyone they ask. In a December 2010 letter sent to Mennonite Church USA leaders, Iglesia Menonita Hispana (Hispanic Mennonite Church) leaders made it clear they still want a boycott of Arizona ...

Vietnamese Mennonites lose their church center
