First-ever racial/ethnic leaders-only meeting planned for JanuaryBy Annette Brill Bergstresser of Mennonite Church USA Around 80 current and former Racial/Ethnic leaders who are connected to Mennonite Church USA are planning to gather Jan. 9-11, 2011, in Tampa, Fla., to share their experiences as leaders of color within the church and to discern what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church through them.
The event, titled "Hope ... for the Future, Hope ... for Change (Acts 10 and 11)," is the first multi-day gathering of leaders of color to be held in Mennonite Church USA, according to Glen Guyton, associate executive director for constituent resources for Mennonite Church USA ...

Webinar spreads ideas for accessible worshipBy Brian PaffOn Dec. 1, over 100 people logged on for a webinar aimed at providing ideas and resources for accessible worship for people with disabilities. Laurelville Mennonite Church Center, Mt. Pleasant, Pa., partnered with the Anabaptist Disabilities Network to sponsor the webinar, "Envision Access." In the days since, Laurelville has witnessed hundreds of downloads of the transcript, .mp3 recording, and other resources from the event. 
The webinar featured nineteen guest speakers with integral roles in the disabilities community, including L'Arche community founder Jean Vanier, writers Brian McLaren and Julie Clawson, and Sweet Honey in the Rock American Sign Language interpreter Shirley Childress Saxton (pictured here) ...
