EMU students protest investment practicesFrom The Weathervane of Eastern Mennonite University As a crowd of students gathered to sit in solidarity outside of the Financial and Audit Committee meeting on Nov. 12, the Students for Morally Responsible Investment (SMRI) presented their stance against Eastern Mennonite University's investment in companies which help fund or further oppression in Israel/Palestine. Shank, mission worker on three continents, diesBy Mennonite Mission Network staff After a lifetime of serving the church on three different continents, David Arthur Shank, 86, died Oct. 20 at his home in Goshen, Ind.  His passing came just weeks after Shank and his wife of 62 years, Wilma, were honored with the Goshen College Culture for Service Award, given in tribute for lives spent in respectful and culturally-appropriate mission work through Mennonite Mission Network and a predecessor agency in Europe and West Africa ... College Corner: Call to help answered with leading of 5-year-oldFrom Bluffton University Five years ago, a biblical prophecy became particularly pertinent to Scott Sundberg and his family. The little child who led them was Sundberg's older son Leif, then 5, whose "prophetic voice" seemed intended to change his father's behavior-and destined to change his life. About a year later, Sundberg, his wife Wendy and their two sons left Southern California for what he calls a "cross-cultural experien  ce" in Lancaster, Pa., where he became communications director for Mennonite Disaster Service.
