Wide Calves, Narrow Hose
The Piper hose is available in sizes Extra Small to
Extra Wide. We find this hose durable, and a great fit
for most. White hose is cotton. Off-white and color
hose are a wool blend. The stretch on the white is
smaller than on the wool hose.
What do you do when XL does not fit your calf?
Radically at the very top of the sock there is a yarn loop
which is what holds the top together if you try and
stretch it. Put two fingers in the top and stretch and you
will feel it stop at about 10inches. This gives a total
width of about 20 inches. What you can do is cut that
loop and you get quite a few extra inches. To stop the
top completely unraveling put some tack stitches in
where you cut and hey presto you can fit a large calf.
Because the snip is tucked underneath when wearing
you never see the surgery!!!
The early bird registration for Lake Diefenbaker
Pipe
Band School is June 1. The school offers top
notch
instruction, a relaxed atmosphere, beach front resort
with evening camp fires, and a Ceilidh not to be
missed!
