Dear (Contact First Name), There are a lot of ways to make the point to buckle up, every trip, every time. Here's a different one.

Douglas County Employees Health Fair
| |
Click It recently attended Douglas County Health Fairs in several different locations. We discussed safety belts with a variety of employees and found that most people buckle up and insist that anyone in their car also buckle up. This attitude is common with most people in the rest of state as well. But we encountered those who don't buckle up, which is also true throughout Nebraska.
Wearing a safety belt is a foundation of health, as much as watching your weight, getting enough exercise, and eating right.
Do your colleagues or employees buckle up? Maybe a reminder at your next health fair would save a life!

Is your group on the Honor Roll?
| |
After a fabulous fall, it looks like winter weather is finally coming our way. In addition, some major driving holidays are coming up. Why not give your coworkers the gift of caring about their safety? When the deer are out, the roads are bad, and there may be some tired or distracted drivers on the road, a safety belt is even more important.
Try a winter-time Honor Roll event! Schedule an unannounced observation in your company's parking lot. Are people wearing their belts? Then do some education--announcements, posters, articles in the company newsletter, and then a second observation at least 30 days after the first.
If both observations show that at least 90% of your group is wearing a safety belt, your group can be included in the Click It--Don't Risk It! gold honor roll. You'll receive a certificate, have your company's information published in this newsletter, and be invited to a proclamation ceremony in Lincoln to shake Governor Heineman's hand.
Best of all though, you'll encourage your coworkers to buckle up! It's a less driving-friendly time of year, and a safety belt is the best insurance against injuries and fatalities in the event of a crash.
