Teens are the least likely group to be wearing belts, but the most likely group to experience a crash.

Safety Belts reduce fatalities and injuries by 45 to 50% in crashes.  Join us in encouraging Nebraska teens to buckle up, every trip, every time.

Can your school use an extra $1000?

Greetings!

Click It--Don't Risk It! is conducting our third annual Come Home Safe campaign during the 2010-11 school year.  This year, we've developed new materials that work with  teenagers' beliefs that they're good drivers (or their secret concern that they're not).  We're combining education with safety belt checks, and your school will have the opportunity to win $1000.

The boxes are in the mail.  Your book covers, posters, and brochures are yours free whether you choose to participate or not.

Here's what we're asking you to do to be entered in the drawing to win $1000.

  • Send us an email at cidri@safenebraska.org  Let us know whether you plan to participate.
  • Schedule 2 safety belt checks this school year.
  • Conduct 2 unannounced checks at least 30 days apart between Sept. 1, 2010 and April 15, 2011.
  • Order free materials at clickitdontrisk.com if you'd like more
  • Station your checkers in the parking lot
  • Take pictures!  Email them to cidri@safenebraska.org
  • Complete safety belt education in between checks
  • Enter your results at clickitdontriskit.com or email them to cidri@safenebraska.org
  • Stay tuned on May 4, 2011 to see if you won $500 or $1000!
IF your results are over 90% for both checks, you qualify for the Honor Roll.  The Honor Roll is an ongoing program that recognizes any organization that does safety belt checks and has 2 checks 30 days apart that both show 90% compliance or greater.   Any group or company or other organization can participate in the Honor Roll.  Those achieving Honor Roll status receive both a certificate and the opportunity to go to a governor's proclamation ceremony at the state capital to shake the Governor's hand.
