Greetings!
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that safety belt usage has hit a record national high of 84%.

The Nebraska State numbers are even higher--85%!  Let's keep up the outstanding work and keep those numbers high!

Check out the NHTSA report!

Business support of safety belts!
Businesses rely on their employees for all of their revenue--there would not be businesses without all of the employees that make business activities happen.

Every company does many things to keep employees happy and productive.  From salaries to activities and rewards intended to boost morale, employees are highly valued and protected.

Many companies recognize the importance of keeping their employees safe and well by sponsoring extensive wellness plans.  These may include everything from stretching to mental health to extensive personalized fitness plans.  One basic thing your company can do to is to require safety belt use both in company and personal vehicles.  Safety belts prevent injury and death by 45-50%--and buckling up is free!  Why not ask your employees and coworkers to take a step toward wellness?
Honor Roll
Many companies supplement their support for safety belts by actually observing whether employees are belted when they come to work.  So far in 2009, Click It has honored 15 entities for their outstanding compliance--these groups have observed either 80% or above 90% belted in at least two observations at least 30 days apart.  Some Honor Roll members are companies; some are schools; some are communities or other kinds of groups.

In order of submission during 2009:

Nebraska Engineering:                  Gold
G&J Remodeling:                          Standard
Deshler Lutheran School:              Standard

Are your group's members safety belt wearers?

Just do some safety belt education and observe how many are belted in two unannounced events at least 30 days apart.  If over 80% of your members are belted both times, you can be on the Honor Roll too!

Honor Roll groups are invited to come to Lincoln for recognition at a governor's proclamation ceremony, or they can choose to have their certificate mailed to them--whatever works best with their needs and schedule.
