Greetings!
What would you do with your $580?

That's the amount per taxpayer that NHTSA estimates would be saved each year if safety belt use was universal

Let's get Nebraska safety belt use up to 100%!

Crash Car
There are many ways to get the point across--not every crash is survivable, but safety belts reduce injuries and fatalities by about 50%.

The State Patrol has several tools, from the rollover vehicle to the new Convincer, and they have recently added another crash car to their list.  This car was totaled in a crash, but the driver lived to tell the tale.

Consider how you might get the point across at your next event.

State Fair Conversations

Click It attended the State Fair with their egg crash demo to impress upon kids that safety belts are a good thing.

As always at large health fairs, we had conversations with people who would not have been in attendance at the Fair without the use of a safety belt at some point in their lives.

It's clear that safety belts save lives.  An added benefit from the perspective of one 4-year-old was the fun of being safely buckled in his car seat when his mom rolled their SUV.  His response?  "Do it again!"  While his mom had a different perspective of the event, she was very glad that both she and he were safely buckled in their seats when the crash happened.

Thanks for all you do to convince people to buckle up.  Safety belts and a carseat make this a fun story instead of a tragedy.
