Greetings!
Governor Heineman has officially proclaimed October as Safe Homecoming Month. If only all teenagers would wear their safety belt every trip every time in order to always "Come Home Safe". We have begun shipping book covers and posters to schools to promote this program.
Some schools have requested support with doing parking lot checks, so contacting them with an offer to help would be a great way for you to support the coalition and your local high school. The proclamation ceremony was attended by (from left to right): Bill Mulherin, National Safety Council Greater Omaha Chapter; Ann Masters, State Education Department; Governor Dave Heineman; Jack Garrison, Wilber Rotary; Mary Garrison, Click It Don't Risk It Steering Committee; Kay Farrell, National Safety Council Greater Omaha Chapter; Lori Klosterbohr, Nebraska Safety Council; Cherie Ferber, Click It--Don't Risk It! |

Region 6 Behavioral Health Brings Home Gold! |
|
Region 6 Behavioral Health achieved a gold rating in their recent Honor Roll check. Bill Emsick and Andria Copple attended the proclamation.
There are many ways to change our behavior to improve safety and health, and safety belts are one of the easiest ways to make a huge impact.
Has your company done Honor Roll observations yet? Maybe it's time for you to go for the gold!

MUD Marks 100% Safety Belt Compliance |
|
Metroplitan Utility District in Omaha has perfected safety belt compliance in their Honor Roll checks, with two 100% checks for safety belt compliance. Brian Smith (left) and Jim Armstrong accepted the certificate from the governor.
MUD requires safety belt use in their company vehicles, and they say that employees report that it's a habit that they not only maintain in their personal vehicles, but they spread the practice to their families as well.
