Greetings!
Our Honor Roll Goal for 2008 is 35. We are currently at 6 winners at the end of the first quarter, which puts us far short of our goal if the current pace continues.
Think about your business, civic group, school, or your town! Are you up to the challenge? Spread the word about wearing safety belts and set up your own Honor Roll observations!

| Community Alliance Strikes Gold! |
|
Community Alliance actually conducted 4 observations in their quest for the gold standard, and achieved their second 90% rating in November of 2007. They used a variety of methods to get the message out, from letters to staff meeting announcements to rewards like Smarties and coupons for ice cream cones. Way to go, Community Alliance! Your staff and clients will be safer thanks to your efforts!

Sunset Hills Elementary students take on safety belt safety! |
|
Sometimes adults can learn from the kids! O ne parent of a Sunset Hills Elementary student told Ruby Larson, the Sunset Hills Teacher Leader, "Now every time I get in the car, the kids remind me to buckle up!" The Sunset Hills Elementary kids used stickers, coloring books, and posters to help spread the word about safety belts while they were working to achieve their Honor Roll designation. The school also explained the Honor Roll and shared some of the statistics about safety belts in their newsletter. Congratulations to Sunset Hills Elementary on helping to make sure students arrive at school safely!
Help set up a safety belt project at your elementary school! The more the message can be emphasized, the fewer teen fatalities Nebraska will see when these kids start driving!
