Dear Neighbor,
This week
the Illinois General Assembly is debating how to reform politics in our state -
centering on campaign finance reform. Clearly, campaign finance in
Illinois is at the core of our state's ethics problems.
Last week my
colleague, Rep. Julie Hamos, launched a petition calling on our legislative
leaders to adopt $2,400 caps on individual contributions. I am in favor of
these caps, but others in the General Assembly would prefer fewer restrictions
on campaign spending. If you support this restriction level, please visit http://www.juliehamos.org/ethics to sign the petition and make your voice heard.
As I have mentioned before, I believe that now is the time for reform in Illinois and this will be a critical week to that end.
Thank you for taking the time to read my e-letter and for your interest in our work in Springfield.
Very Truly Yours,
Sara Feigenholtz
State Representative
